Top 3 Movies on lucid dreaming

Lucid dreaming has long fascinated not only sleep researchers and oneironauts but also filmmakers. Here are my personal favorite movies that explore the boundaries between dream and reality:

1. Inception (2010)

The quintessential classic. A team, led by actor Leonardo Dicaprio, invades dreams to steal - or implant - ideas. Inception is full of symbolism straight out of the world of lucid dreaming and is quite instructive in some respects.

2. Matrix (1999-2003)

What if reality is just an illusion? This question runs through Matrix, in which the world is deliberately called into question. The main character, Neo, manages to escape from a machine-controlled illusory world after a while, only to later re-enter this world, to fight for humanity.

3. Lucid Dream (2017)

After his son has been abducted for three years, a father tries to find him again through lucid dreams. The South Korean sci-fi thriller illustrates how lucid dreaming can be used to solve problems and uncover hidden details.

Of course, there are several other films about lucid dreaming, or films that have to do with this topic, but I would like to deliberately limit myself to my top 3 films here, because I think that these films are by far the most worthwhile to watch.

Remspace has compiled a very detailed list with many interesting titles...
